If you have a baby that is a heavy wetter, has skin sensitivities, sleeps for 12+ hours OR you just need something that can be big enough to last all the way through potty training…then you need to look at Twinkie Tush. Sophia is now three. She is totally out of diapers except for nights and my Twinkie Tush diapers have been my go-to’s to get her through to the morning with dry sheets. But even when she was smaller, I loved my Twinkie Tush.
I am blessed to own one of Twinkie Tush’s night-nights. Which by the way is the MOST absorbent cloth diaper I have ever tested. (See my absorbency tests here.) It is one of the first I recommend to anyone who struggles with nighttime leaks.
night-nights are a little harder to come by because they are usually only available in a four pack. A few times a year they do come up for individual sale or as part of a preorder. Because of this, I don’t hesitate to also recommend Twinkie Tush’s other cloth diapers…the one size Fitted or the one size hybrid Fusion cloth diapers are also seriously amazing. All of their other diapers (besides the night-nights) are stocked weekly. Read to the bottom to see shop stocking dates and times.
I did receive a Fitted and a Fusion for purpose of review. However, all opinions and statements here are 100% honest and true.
During my absorbency tests, the Twinkie Tush Fitted held 26 oz and the Twinkie Tush Fusion held 27 oz. The Fusion seems to have a touch more absorbency due to the fact that the third petal of the soaker is larger than the one on the Fitted.
But what makes the Fusion even more fabulous (or maybe just different depending on what you are looking for) is the additional layer of fleece that adds a mild waterproofing quality to the diaper. While it does add a higher level of liquid containment, if you want the diaper to be totally waterproof you still need a cover such as PUL/TPU, fleece or my personal favorite…wool.

Many families turn to the Twinkie Tush Fitted or Fusion for a great daytime cloth diaper. I’ve heard many say they go a good three hours before feeling wet on the outside. Going sans cover makes this a truly great, breathable option. Twinkie Tush uses organic bamboo velour or cotton velour and organic bamboo fleece/stretch fleece. I find the stretchiness that all the diapers seem to have makes it very easy to get a great fit.
By adding a good wool cover to either you end up with a bulletproof combination.
Twinkie Tush offers teenie-tush (newborn 5-12 lbs), little-tush (a bridge between the NB and OS with a range of 10-25 lbs) and One Size (12 -35 lbs).
If you follow me you know that there are a few things I really really love….Besides excellent craftsmanship and being smooshy soft, I LOVE when things are made in the USA/Canada. Twinkie Tush is made with love right here in my home state of New York!
I recently read this post on Facebook from Gretchen and Mike, the family behind Twinkie Tush. I loved it so much I’m going to share here as well.
3 years and one week ago today, on 9/7/12, we moved into our first outside-the-home production space. Approximately 1200 square feet with 2 snapping stations, a cutting table, a sewing area for 2 seamstresses, a shipping and organizational area, and a break area. We were over the moon excited to be able to do that, and to be bringing on 5 full-time employees to help us continue to grow our company!
Today we take up the entire building we initially expanded into, approximately 3600 square feet, with 3 cutting tables, 4 snapping stations, 5 seamstress stations, a QC and studio management area, a much larger shipping area, much larger break area, fabric storage room, dedicated photo space, lots of storage and organizational spaces throughout, and 2 offices! Our team has grown to 13 (15 with Mike and myself).
As I look back over the past 3 years I am once again humbled and filled with immense gratitude to be able to be doing what I love, surrounded by wonderful people both at twinkie tush HQ and within our cherished customer community, and inspired every day to continue to reach higher. We have long operated on the philosophy that by putting as much good into the world as we can – a good product along with honest business practices, open communication, transparency, integrity, positive energy and generosity of spirit – we will continue to have opportunities to grow and create more good. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for being a part of our continued growth and for giving us those opportunities.
As we go into our 4th year as an outside-the-home small business, we can promise you continued dedication to the qualities that make us who we are, both in our products and in our company itself.
I big puffy heart love this!
So listen….Amazing craftsmanship. High quality material. Tons of prints. And did I mention absorbent?
Twinkie Tush cloth diapers are worth every penny. I treasure all the ones I have the honor of owning. Besides all that I just mentioned, Twinkie Tush just plain and simple work. I highly recommend that you check them out!
Their store is stocked with new items every Wednesday at 2 pm est, Pre-orders are offered every Friday at 2 pm est, and custom groups are formed daily on their Facebook fan page – https://www.facebook.com/
I’d love to hear from anyone who already owns a Twinkie Tush. Do you love yours as much as I do?

Hi–do u have any recommendations for pull-up type cloth diapers that would work for a four year old? My son has disabilities, and potty trying is going to take awhile. I need something that snaps on the sides for when he poops, and that will hold more moisture than a usual cloth pull-up. Also, any recommendations for overnight cloth pull-up types for the 4-8tear old ranges? Looking to fit the 40-75# weight range. Thanks!

Have you looked into something like Grovia AIO’s? Also HumBird Creations makes and sells covers that will fit until 8-10Y sizes. You can use flats and snappies or boingos and get quite big with the sizing that way. This is a question that has also come up in our AACD chat group. I’d be honored if you joined. https://www.facebook.com/groups/572823649405637
