I always love a good absorbent cloth diaper insert, especially ones that are great for naps and night. It’s nice to not have to use 5 inserts at once. It makes it so much trimmer….and who doesn’t love trim?
I was always a huge fan of RagaBabe inserts in general. They are trim, well-made and wash easily. I almost forgot to mention that RagaBabe this cute little snap and dry that keeps inserts from sticking to the inside of the dryer so they dry faster and it makes them super easy to sort. Best of all, everything is made in the USA.
I did receive a bulletproof insert free of charge to review. But I’ve purchased many, many…many RagaBabe cloth diapers with my own money and I can say with confidence it is an amazing cloth diaper and an amazing company.
RagaBabe inserts are sized. They begin in doublers and go up to an XL (The XL comes with size 3 diapers which are made to fit 50+ pounds just to give you an idea of the options). The inserts are priced from $6.95 – $10.95 and are also available for individual purchase.
The basic insert included with each 2-step cloth diaper is a Sherpa-Topped Hemp Insert. The sherpa top is super soft and quick absorbing. There are 4 internal layers are Hemp and Cotton. You are then able to upgrade the insert to either a stay dry top (and oh those are pretty!) or the Bulletproof insert that I am writing about now. The Stay Dry is a layer of suede cloth on top to help wick wetness away from skin. It is available in White, Aqua, Pink, Red and Royal!
The Bulletproof Insert is 5 layers of absorbency topped with sherpa. Hemp can sometimes be a slow absorber, so the sherpa topping is a great thing for a fast pee-er!
I tested the Bulletproof insert in my absorbency tests. It held a super respectable 11 ounces! That puts it right around the top pf the chart!
These are made to be used on their own and can handle a heavy wetting baby during the day. For moderate wetters using two of the bulletproof inserts can get you all night. I have a ton of these that I use with Norah. They wash well. Dry fast. And live up to their name as far as I am concerned.
These are on the spendy side. But the customer service you receive, the quality of the products and the trim fit is so worth it. If RagaBabe cloth diapers or inserts fit in your budget, then I highly recommend trying them out.
