So I found out I was pregnant. Yay! Someone mentioned that they use baby cloth diapers and I should check them out. I thought cloth sounded awesome. Better for baby. Better for the environment. But wait! What do you do with the POOP!?
As a first time mom I didn’t yet know that kids as a rule are already pretty disgusting and the poop is really the least of it. But knowing all I do now about cloth diapers and the poop that goes with them, I’m here to tell you that if you NEVER want to touch poop in a cloth diaper…you don’t have to by using Diaper Liners.
If you’ve already been cloth diapering for a while, you likely have either used or heard about liners. Lots of manufacturers sell them. Some people even use paper towels.
Here’s the thing. You can’t flush those liners or paper towels. They will clog up your septic and even the town sewer treatment plant. And really, you aren’t just supposed to throw poop in the garbage.
The Environmental Protection Agency actually prohibits the disposal of untreated human waste at landfills. Which is an interesting point considering all the disposable diapers loaded with it and getting thrown in the garbage every single day. But that is a discussion for another time.
There are other biodegradable liners on the market. However, people can experience shifting or bunching as the liner isn’t secured in any way, but instead placed on top of the insert. I personally stopped using Diaper Liners in the past because of this issue. Say hello to the ONLY completely secured, totally biodegradable, septic safe, no touching poop ever liner on the market…Tidy Tots Flushies!
Diaper Liners
- Tidy Tots Flushies are secured by first folding them over the Tidy Tot no fold diaper insert and then again as they are snapped into the cover right along with the diaper insert! That means it’s secured in 6 ways. It will NEVER shift. That means no poop ever gets past it.
- Tidy Tots Flushies are made of 100% cornstarch. That means they are soft and completely biodegradable. Totally safe to flush in both septic and town sewer situations. Don’t worry…they don’t immediately breakdown, so they’ll still stay in one piece ever after being peed on.
- You can use ANY diaper rash cream on the market right along with Flushies. No need to worry if it’s cloth diaper safe.
- No touching, swishing, or spraying smelly, poopy diapers. Ever.
Tidy Tots, this is a.maz.ing! And something that solves an issue that so many families struggle with when considering cloth diapers…What do you do with the poop!
If you are new to cloth diapers or just to this brand, another great thing to know is that they come with a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, for any reason, you can return the diapers up to 30 days after purchase. They even have something called a New Family Extended Guarantee! Lots of new parents buy necessities like cloth diapers before baby arrives. Tidy Tots has you covered! They offer new families an extended guarantee that allows a return 30 days from the date of birth. I think that is really amazing!

Hi there!
Are the flushes compatible with Alva baby cloth?
Jennifer Reinhardt says
Yes they will fit.
Madeline says
Hi,
You say that these flushies are ” totally biodegradable, septic safe”; I was wondering if you could provide a reference for that. I looked on their website, and cannot find anything about them being septic safe, and this is the one hold up I have about getting these diapers.
Thanks!

Last year Tidy Tots switched the material they used for the liners. I reached out for some official answer that I might share here. I’ll update you as soon as I have an answer. Great question by the way!

I heart Tidy Tots and flushies. And 3.5 years and three kiddos later I can attest that they really don’t shift or bunch or fall apart. They even hold with the soft stools one of my three is prone to. Yay Tidy Tots!!

could these be used with the ragababe diapers?
Jennifer Reinhardt says
Hey Kate! Ragababes only snap in one place. Tidy tots have 4 snap locations. You could try to fold these over the Ragababe inserts and snap it in, but it would likely shift around.
