Cloth Diapers Made In The U.S.A.

Families of all kinds are making the pledge to only buy  products made in the U.S.A.  By all kinds I mean mainstream, crunchy, religious…doesn’t really matter.

Thankfully, most companies proudly display their Made In The U.S.A. badge.  But, when you shop through an online store carrying many brands it’s often hard to find where the products are made.

I have begun compiling a list of cloth diaper brands that are Made in the U.S.A. This list will be added to as suggestions are made by you, by WAHMs and as I find them.

You can find this list by clicking the tab in the navigation bar called “Made In The U.S.A.”

Most cloth diaper buyers are aware that if you shop Etsy (check to see store’s location as Etsy is worldwide) or Hyena Cart you are getting “Made In The Kitchen”.  This is an awesome comfort!  I love knowing that a WAHM actually sat at her kitchen/sewing table and hand-made the cloth diaper I use.

However, this doesn’t mean that I don’t love my cloth diapers made on a much grander scale.  Bigger manufacturing means bigger demand which is exactly what I pray every start-up business achieves.

If you would like me to add a company to the list please let me know.  Also, you will notice in the list that sometimes a cloth diaper will be made in the States but their inserts are not.  I will note this for you.

I encourage you not to take this list as a solid, unchanging promise of Made in the U.S.A.  A company may feel the need to move manufacturing elsewhere and I may not know about it.  Please double check every brand before you buy if buying Made in the U.S.A. is important to you.

This is a great resource and it made me look at the diapers I have bought and I will certainly keep it in mind when I buy more. I did check on one that I bought that wasn’t listed and thats CuteyBaby. I tried looking up Huggabuns and Katydid diapers but they don’t list if they are or not. Thanks, Jessica

As usual, you are providing an invaluable service to all parents on their diapering journey. It is so easy for a reusable diapering product to become a commodity and when that happens the only thing people look at is price. Our Diaperaps® diaper covers have been made in the USA for over 20 years. Recently we introduced Sage Diaper ™ , a whole line of USA made reusable diapering products – which include diaper inserts. All our fabrics are sourced first in the U.S and only when not available (like hemp-organic cotton) do we look elsewhere. (Our diaper liners come from the U.K. and our pre fold gauze diapers come from China – can’t find these in the U.S.). But we also try and go deeper and carefully choose where they are made in the U.S. We want to be sure that workers are treated fairly and earn more than the minimum wage and that the factories have good lighting, healthy working conditions and compassionate management. This all costs more, but we think it’s worth it to have ‘good energy’ in the products which will be surrounding your little bundle of joy.

Both Bright Star and Fishnoodles diapers are made in the USA. And the ladies that sew them are really nice ;-)

I agree with above, it is important to “buy American” at our house whenever possible. We will happily pay higher prices to do this if necessary. Thanks Autumn!

Taken from the Bummis USA web site:

We produce everything we can in our factory in Montreal, and we use North American components as much as is humanly possible. For the products and components unavailable to us here in North America, we work with our long-time, reputable partners in the UK and Pakistan. Everything – both manufactured here and imported – is tested for non-toxicity and also where relevant for good biodegradability standards.

As soon as we were able to do so, we switched our cloth diapers to GOTS certified cotton.

RagaBabe cloth diapers, inserts, wipes, wet bags, ect. are made in the good ‘ol USA too! Thank you for supporting those of us that have made this commitment. We are contracting seamstresses to help us get off the ground, but have plans in the works to bring our production in house. I know many people are starting to see the value of buying domestically, especially in this last year. What a great resource to add to your blog!

I believe Smartipants are American made as well. Not sure about the inserts, they didn’t specify.

“Smartipants™ diapers feature our Leak-Guard Technology, keeping moisture contained, and your baby dry. Our diapers are made with “breathable” fibers and are free from any chemicals or irritants. Smartipants™ reusable diapers are designed to grow with your baby from newborn to toddler, babies 7lbs – 35lbs.
    PROUDLY MADE IN THE USA!”

Best Bottoms are made in the USA
    A quote from their site:
The highest quality of materials available have been selected with as much of the raw materials made in the USA as we could find. The entire Shell is made with USA-made materials! ALL of our products are proudly handcrafted in the USA at local factories helping to support the local economy and reduce our environmental impact.
