I like kids clothes that are well made. Stuff that they can be kids in…run, jump, roll, and play to their heart’s content. And when I buy something I want to know that it won’t look like it was drug behind the car for a week after just once wash. I can confidently say that DotDotSmile fits the bill.
I did receive products in exchange for a review. However, all opinions expressed are honest and true.
My 5 year old, Sophia, loves twirly dresses. She also loves to tumble around. And climb on rocks. She just loves to get dirty in general. Her DotDotSmile dress tumbled right along with her. I do want to add that she does always wear leggings under it otherwise her cute little princess undies would always be showing with all the rolling around.
The only thing I do worry a little about are snags in the dress. The material is labeled as the following: May contain any or all of the following material rayon, polyester, lycra, cotton, and nylon. But honestly, so far, it hasn’t been an issue.
The fabric blend gives the dress a super silky and smooth feel. This blend is also what gives the amazing twirl to the dress. And what little girl doesn’t love to twirl?
My youngest couldn’t wear her DotDotSmile dress immediately. The sizing is 12-24 months. It was a bit long at first and she was still crawling so she would catch the fabric with her knees and face plant. Now at 18 months, Norah has finally mastered the whole walking thing (she started at about 15 months, a bit later than her sister had but oh well because kids do it in their own time). You can see the dress looks adorable on her as well!
Alright, so how do you care for these? No hand washing required! Yay!
The tag does recommend washing on cold in the gentle cycle. That is what I’ve been doing and it has worked fine. I also hang dry as I find it helps keep clothing looking new longer. I do wish the dress was regular machine washable. It would just make my life easier. But as with most boutique quality clothing, having to use the gentle cycle is pretty standard.
DotDotSmile isn’t just for babies and toddlers either. Even young girls and preteens can find amazing styles to love.
I really like what Dot Dot Smile stands for. They stand behind their product and the quality. And they are so much about their family. I love that! It’s worth watching the video. <3
I also love that they are providing other people the opportunity to work in a way that brings money AND joy to their lives. Here’s the page description from the independent retailer I worked with. She named her business Little Yet Fierce. Jessica writes:
Little Yet Fierce – the name was inspired by the original wordsmith himself, William Shakespeare. When he wrote “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” there was a line that says “though she be but little she is fierce”. You will find classic and timeless styles designed with all in mind whether athletes, scientists, animal lovers, literature lovers, royalty in training or anything in between. Comfortable, quality, long lasting clothing made for daring and imaginative, playful and thoughtful empowering days. In this group, I will post live sales and member exclusives, pre-claims and pre-sales and one of a kind limited item special release collaborations with textile artisan boutiques.
FREE shipping and a $1 donation from each purchase? What’s not to love?!
Have you ever purchased DotDotSmile clothing? What do you think?
I love to see this company giving back to the community with a donation from each purchase. With free shipping and machine washable dresses that are adorable, I am super excited for my girls to grow!
Is Dot Dot Smile a part of Lularoe? (And oh my gosh, those photos of your girls are THE BEST!) :)
I bought my daughter bunch of DDS dresses and didn’t read the labels. Whoops. I know how to wash them now. ??
Have you been washing them with the rest of your laundry? If they are ok so far, I’d probably just keep doing what already works ;)
