September 8-14 is National Diaper Need Awareness Week. Giving Diapers, Giving Hope is an amazing organization that provides cloth diapers to low income families and has already helped 195 families this year alone! They have helped over 600 families and shipped nearly 11,000 cloth diapers to qualified families for just the cost of shipping since they began in 2011. WOW! They are issuing a challenge…I took it…and now I nominate you. Let’s help them reach a donation goal of 150 cloth diapers!

BTW, I just created our allaboutclothdiapers Instagram account. It’s feeling pretty lonely over there with only three followers! I’d love to have you come keep me company. If you are mobile click the Instagram badge and follow us!

Did I mention there are prizes to be had if you donate? Here’s what you have to do courtesy:  http://www.givingdiapersgivinghope.org/join-us-in-givinghope-to-fight-diaperneed/ :

To raise awareness about Diaper Need and help more families get the cloth diapers we provide we are #GivingHope September 8-16!  We want to challenge YOU to pick ONE cloth diaper in good used condition, or new condition to send to us.  For many of you it won’t be much of a challenge.  We also want your donation to inspire others so if you’d like, post a photo to Instagram!  Here is how:

1.  Take a photo of you with a diaper in an envelope addressed to:

GDGH Donations
C/O The Natural Baby Co
1203 North Rouse Unit 3E
Bozeman MT 59715

2.  Cover your return address with your hand or a sticker using an app in your phone.
3.  Post to Instagram and include the hashtags #givinghope and #diaperneed.  Tag 3 friends.
4.  Cross your fingers an elf finds you!

As an organization that relies on donations to keep up with the growing demand of families looking to use cloth diapers but who can’t afford that start-up cost, your ONE diaper will add up with the other donations to make a BIG impact!  This past July we helped over 40 families and shipped 700+ cloth diapers.

To show our appreciation for your donations we will also be randomly selecting some donors who use those hashtags with their photos.  Kim, our Executive Director and owner of Dirty Diaper Laundry, and her elves will be performing RAOK to those selected.  The RAOK could take the form of new cloth diapers (ahem…. There may be a Spence and Marie in the bag of treats), accessories, or E-Gifts from supporting companies.  It is our way of thanking some of those who donate.   Please make sure you have made your profile public so that our elves can find you by searching the #givinghope hashtag on Instagram.

See our donation guidelines regarding the condition of diapers here: http://www.givingdiapersgivinghope.org/donate/

Photos must be posted during Diaper Need Awareness week, September 8-14 to be eligible for RAOK but we welcome donations and any photos with the hashtag any time of the year!

I will be donating at least one diaper this week, but it will be to TRFCDC, as they provide diapers at no charge, not even postage, and take them in any condition, as well. Thank you for the challenge.

I used All About Cloth Diapers when my oldest (now 5) developed an allergy around 6mo to disposable diapers. If it weren’t for this site, I would have switched back to disposables because I was having so many issues with fit and cleaning. This site really helped me to understand how to cloth diaper. I have used the big book every year even after my kids potty trained because there are so many amazing deals for everyday household and personal needs! So glad I found this site and the big book!

This is a great place to learn all there is to know about cloth diapers and the care of them. There is no right or wrong way to cloth diaper. All in one's may work best for one child but flats may work best for another child. You will understand how to care for your cloth diapers so they last you. There is a wealth of information on various brands and wool as well. Highly recommend!
