My four-year-old, Sophia, loves her baths! I figured the perfect gift would be a cute little robe for her to wear after she gets out. I mentioned to my friend Sharona, that I was going to buy one of her Geffen Baby Robes. I mean, I already love all the other Geffen Baby products, so I was sure that the robe would be just as amazing. And it is! (and just sayin’…make sure you read to the bottom! There’s a discount code!)

One of the best things about the cloth diaper community is all the amazing people you meet and friends that you make. I’m lucky to have ‘met’ Sharona, even though we’ve never seen each other in person, we’ve spoken on the phone. She is the amazing lady (and mom to triplets!) behind Geffen Baby. She wouldn’t hear of me buying the robe. I soon had a fluffy package sitting on my doorstep. I’m telling you about this robe not as a product in exchange for review, but because we really, really do love it.

Robe

Sophia LOVED the robe too. She wears it after every.single.bath. One time I had to wash it and it wasn’t dry by bath time. She had to use…a towel…

You would have thought the her favorite toy had broken. You know what I’m talking about ;)

The robe is 100% cotton and is cotton terry cloth on the inside and terry velour on the outside. It’s got a hood and a waist tie made out of the same material as the robe. It is also double stitched for durability.

I’ve had it for 9 months. It’s been washed quite a bit and has held up well. It did shrink a tiny bit in the beginning, but that is totally normal for a 100% cotton fabric. I machine dry on medium and never got any more shrinkage after the little bit in the beginning.

There are two sizes. Here’s the chart from the Geffen Baby website:

Robe Sizing

When Sophia first started wearing the robe she was just under 40″. The robe (size L) went down to below her ankles. She’s 42″ now and the robe hits just above her ankles. She’s a skinny mini to give you a body type. We cuff the sleeves on her. The robe fits big but will continue to fit her for a long, long time.

Things I love…

  • It’s super soft!
  • All the colors you can choose from. Black, pink, red, royal blue, sky blue, and white.
  • Sophia is totally dry within a few minutes of putting it on. Makes it easy for me!
  • The is well-made and sturdy and could definitely last through a few kids.

Something I’d like to change…

Can we get it in purple please? That’s really it. Oh wait…also adult sizes.

I used All About Cloth Diapers when my oldest (now 5) developed an allergy around 6mo to disposable diapers. If it weren’t for this site, I would have switched back to disposables because I was having so many issues with fit and cleaning. This site really helped me to understand how to cloth diaper. I have used the big book every year even after my kids potty trained because there are so many amazing deals for everyday household and personal needs! So glad I found this site and the big book!

This is a great place to learn all there is to know about cloth diapers and the care of them. There is no right or wrong way to cloth diaper. All in one's may work best for one child but flats may work best for another child. You will understand how to care for your cloth diapers so they last you. There is a wealth of information on various brands and wool as well. Highly recommend!
