I have to tell you…I was very pleasantly surprised by how much I liked Imagine’s Bamboo All in One diaper. I think I may have a new favorite mid-range priced cloth diaper now!

Kate at The Joyful Giraffe recently started carrying Imagine Baby Products and is so excited about it. She sent me an Imagine Bamboo AIO to try.  I can totally see why she was excited about these!

IBP_OS_Bamboo_AIO_Flutter

This is a super affordable option for people looking for a super absorbent cloth diaper! Nicki Maynard, the creator of Best Bottom Diapers and Planet Wise Wetbags, created this line as an affordable and accessible cloth diapering choice.

This Bamboo All in One is available in both snaps and hook and loop. The outer shell is lined with a layer of 70% bamboo (processed bamboo viscose) and 30% cotton. The snap-in soaker is made of 4 layers of bamboo.

This is a one size diaper with three rise settings that claims to fit babies that are 8-15 lbs on the smallest rise setting and 23-35 lbs unsnapped. Sophia is 19 months and approximately 25 pounds and 32”. She fits perfectly with the rise unsnapped and one snap left on the waist. I think these seem to run small. She probably could get another 3-4 months out of the diaper before the rise would be too short. I measure the rise at about 17.5”. Unfortunately, It doesn’t seem as though a 35 pound baby could wear these.

I can’t say from experience as Sophia is already on the bigger side, however, these do seem like they would fit smaller babies nicely.

Imagine

To prep a new bamboo cloth diaper you should wash them separately from your other diapers 2-3 times. Just a tiny bit of detergent is needed. You don’t have to dry between the washings; however, I found that it helped to increase absorbency faster. All natural fiber cloth diapers (cotton, hemp, bamboo) contain natural oils that need to be washed away first. If this step isn’t taken the oils will be deposited on your other cloth diapers in the wash.

It may take up to 8 washings before your bamboo diaper reaches full absorbency. I found that even after just the first few initial washings, this diaper was already very absorbent.

What I like about this Imagine Bamboo AIO is that it is just so soft! The lining is buttery and while yes the insert is not the trimmest, the softness and absorbency makes up for it.

While this is a made in China diaper, I feel confident purchasing it because it is produced by a reputable American run company.

It is a well made diaper. The snaps on my tester are strong. The elastic works! And believe me we tested that elastic to its limits thanks to Sophia’s toddler poo… I like that the soaker comes unsnapped. It helps to speed drying. However, even after a full cycle in the dryer, I still needed to hang to dry the rest of the way. No big deal though, I already hang dry my shells.

For anyone looking for an easy to use, well made, absorbent option…you should give the Imagine Bamboo AIO a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I just bought some hook and loop Nicki’s Diapers Bamboo AIOs during their fantastic Earth Day 2016 sale. If we don’t like them or they don’t work for us, I’ll give these Imagine Bamboo AIOs a try.

I used All About Cloth Diapers when my oldest (now 5) developed an allergy around 6mo to disposable diapers. If it weren’t for this site, I would have switched back to disposables because I was having so many issues with fit and cleaning. This site really helped me to understand how to cloth diaper. I have used the big book every year even after my kids potty trained because there are so many amazing deals for everyday household and personal needs! So glad I found this site and the big book!

This is a great place to learn all there is to know about cloth diapers and the care of them. There is no right or wrong way to cloth diaper. All in one's may work best for one child but flats may work best for another child. You will understand how to care for your cloth diapers so they last you. There is a wealth of information on various brands and wool as well. Highly recommend!
