As I was opening the package with my new Opulent Monsters diaper I had two thoughts: OHHH Pretty! and WOW this is well made! You all know what I mean. Sometimes when you get something it’s just ok and sometimes you are really impressed right off the bat. I was really impressed!
First, I want to say that Work at Home Moms and small businesses are amazing. I owned my own small business, Curves, in case you never peaked at my bio ;) and I totally understand that there are MANY challenges that a small business can face on a daily basis. I want to send much love and admiration to those who plug away at their dreams even in the face of great adversity. Photo courtesy http://www.opulentmonsters.com/
Crystal, the owner and creator of Opulent Monsters faced such adversity and totally rose above it with her new design, the Opulent Monster’s Magnum Opus or OMMO. The design of the OMMO is unique to Opulent Monsters. It features two separate soaker petals made up of 3 layers of bamboo fleece that are attached to the top and bottom of the diaper and either a stay dry athletic wicking jersey or a natural option that has bamboo fleece against little one’s skin. This design allows for fast drying times.
Here is a link to detailed directions (with pictures!) that explains how to stuff the diaper. It’s pretty simple. Just reach through the front pocket and pull back petal through. Then reach through the back pocket and pull front petal in. Gently tug on front and back of diaper. That will give the petals some slack inside the pocket. That’s it! The petals should agitate out of the pocket on their own in the wash, they did easily in mine.
I received this diaper free of charge. However my opinions expressed are true and honest.
Sophia is around 27 pounds now. I received the dry, hook and loop version. I found this diaper to be a very good fit around her waist and thighs with room to spare. Like a lot of room. I still have it on the middle rise setting! The hook and loop was also pretty strong. I despise hook and loop that doesn’t stick! Not the case here. Also another big plus. I didn’t need to add extra absorbency to this diaper to get it to last. Bamboo is a great option for heavy wetting kiddos. The attached bamboo petals held plenty while still being trim. The materials and workmanship on this diaper are exceptionally high. I really like the dry option as Sophia sometimes seems to be sensitive to wetness. I honestly think that the elastic and outer of this diaper will last (hopefully) though multiple kids.
The OMMO is a One Size All in One cloth diaper that has 3 rows of rise snaps and is available in either hook and loop or snaps. Its weight range is 12-35 pounds. Although you might not get a good fit at the newborn stage as this might be too bulky for some babies. At $30.95, they are priced at the higher end of mid-range. However, you get what you pay for in some instances. It is totally worth the investment in one or a whole stash of Opulent Monster‘s. You can buy these at http://www.opulentmonsters.com/shop/. They are super well made, are one size so you get lots of use out of them, constructed with quality materials that should last through multiple children…and finally let me show you that they have UNIQUE and very pleasing to the eye prints.
